February was a very good month for beer, both in quality and quantity. And with so many people in North Carolina seemingly trapped in their homes by a light dusting of snow, why not? A German hazelnut cask from Aviator (marked on the draft list as "Not Nutella"), the Japanese Green Tea IPA from Stone, and Goose Island BCBS 2014 were a few of my favorites this month. My beer of the month for February, however, is staying right here in Raleigh with the Tandem Double IPA 2.0 from Crank Arm.
The short Untappd blurb describes this beer as "Jade, Amarillo and Mosaic hops in a perfectly balanced harmony between hop bitterness and smooth drinkability." I must agree. Without sounding too much like the old Miller Lite ads, I will say that this beer was exceptional drinkable for a DIPA. Crank Arm has been putting out some great brews lately, and have become a staple in my beer diet.
